Boys Waistcoat Suit Size Guide: 3 Piece Measurements Explained

Boy wearing a navy blue embroidered waistcoat suit with kurta shalwar by Harisan Wear

A 3 piece waistcoat suit has three things that need to fit: the kurta, the shalwar and the waistcoat. That is why our boys waistcoat suits have a longer size chart than a plain kurta shalwar.

Size Age Kameez length Chest Shalwar length Waistcoat length

18 2–3 years 21 13 21 14
20 4–5 years 24 13 24 15.5
22 6 years 26 14 26 17
24 7 years 28 15 28 18
26 8 years 29 15 29 20
28 9–10 years 31 15 31 22
30 11–12 years 33 16 33 23
32 13–14 years 36 17 36 25

What each column tells you

  • Kameez length is the kurta from shoulder to hem.
  • Shalwar length is the shalwar from waist to ankle. In this chart it matches the kameez length for each size.
  • Waistcoat length is shorter than the kameez, so the kurta shows below the waistcoat.
  • Chest helps when your son is broader or slimmer than most boys his age.

This chart is not the same as the kurta shalwar chart

The ages beside each size here differ from the ages on our kurta shalwar size chart. A size 16 kurta shalwar and a size 16 waistcoat suit are not labelled for the same age, so do not assume his usual number carries over. Use the chart on the waistcoat suit page.

Choosing for a wedding or Eid

Waistcoat suits are usually bought for a date. If the event is more than a month away and he is close to the top of a size, the next size up is the safer choice. If you would like a second opinion, message us on WhatsApp with his age and height. For outfit ideas, see boys wedding and mehndi outfits.
