Boys Wedding and Mehndi Outfits: Choosing a Waistcoat Suit

Boy wearing a black embroidered waistcoat suit with kurta shalwar by Harisan Wear

At a shaadi the adults plan their outfits for weeks, and the children are often sorted out at the last minute. A waistcoat suit solves this quickly: it is one set, it looks formal, and a boy can still run around in it.

What is in a 3 piece waistcoat suit

Each of our boys waistcoat suits is a set of three: an embroidered waistcoat, a kurta and a shalwar. The kurta shalwar is in Royal Silk. The waistcoat has a band collar and a buttoned front and carries the embroidery, so the look is dressy without the kurta itself being heavy.

Mehndi: warm and bright colours

Mehndi is the event for colour. The Olive Green Waistcoat Suit, with off-white floral embroidery, is an earthy choice that pairs with tan or golden khussa. The Mustard Yellow Waistcoat Suit is the brighter option.

Barat and formal evenings: deep colours

For evening functions darker shades look sharper under lights. The Black Waistcoat Suit, with black embroidery and silver sequin work, suits weddings, dholki and formal evenings with black or silver khussa. Maroon and Navy Blue are good alternatives if black feels too plain for a child.

Walima and daytime events: light colours

Daytime events suit lighter tones. Look at the Ivory and White, Cream and Off-White or Ice Blue suits.

Matching brothers and cousins

The suits come in the same sizes across colours, so you can dress brothers in one colour or give each cousin a different shade from the same collection.
